No 3G on Iphone 5 - Vodafone 3G India

I am using my Iphone 5 with Vodafone 3G network in India (3G network is activated by the carrier - checked). It has never connected to 3G and the pages take ages to load, if they load at all. How can I correct this? Heard there is some issue with activation profiles not being loaded. Is it true, how can I load the activation profile properly? I have tried restoring to factory settings, but to no avail. Help! bought this phone after waiting for 4 months for it to release...and cant use the features yet!

Hi i contacted customer care and they told me below solution it worked for me.

Solution:

go to setting->carrier and disable automatic and select Airtel Ind or somenetwork which has Airtel in the string(as vodafone is taking airtel 3g connection ensure you enable mobile data and 3g) and you can see vodafone 3g on top

Note: if you are disabling 3g change to vodafone network again

I think this one will help

Hello,

I am using iPhone 4 and has same issues. Tried many things as indicated in this thread but no resolution yet (still waiting for "ACT IPHONE" to push settings if any and see if this fixes the issue).

1. when I select Airtel as carrier, it says no service to this carrier (I didn't directly sign up with Airtel...so this is understood).

2. Tried selecting "Vodafone IN" manually instead of "Automatic". In this case, even if I enable for 3G, only it shows "E" which means, it's connected to 2G.

3. When carrier is set to "Automatic" and 3G enabled - every 30 sec it disconnects and re-connects, draining the battery quite fast. The "3G" symbol appears and then dis-appears after 30 sec, repeating this sequence until my phone is dead.

Let me know if anybody got a solution for this. 2G and Basic Vodafone phone service are working okay. But, 2G too slow to even stream audio.

P.S: I am wondering why Vodafone didn't even put list of steps required for enabling each type of device for 3G in India/Indian regions/circles. Could have saved lot of headache for users and their customer care. If indeed they have an issue which they can't fix, they should say so w/o letting users go thru this pain. For me, it took few days to figure out why battery was draining so fast. So frustrating that I should switch off from this carrier.

Thanks,

Dity.

Spoke to Vodafone customer care. After probing on whether the issue exists in only one location they agreed that they are working on incompatibility issues between Apple ios (certain versions of the operating system) and Vodafone 3G with no estimated date for a fix. Until then, they suggested to restrict to 2G if I can't bear the dis-connect issues arising when 3G is enabled.

Hope this helps some folks who may be struggling to find the root cause. BTW, my issue is in Bangalore.

Hello Dity, Anthony, Shashi,

My bro and I have been facing the same issue on our iPhone 4. I have raised as many as 7 complaints on this since November 2014 and no resolution yet.

None of the above settings have worked. This issue is only in Karnataka, and in roaming it works absolutely fine. I was able to use 3G in Goa, TN, and AP without any issues with 3G on all the time, also with good speeds. Again today I had called Vodafone care and they have registered a complaint regarding network connectivity for 3G network. I should hear from them by April 4. I clearly mentioned that if the issue doesn't get resolved this time, I moving for different network. I'll keep you guys informed.

Regards,

Sharath
