No 3G on Iphone 5 - Vodafone 3G India

Hi i contacted customer care and they told me below solution it worked for me.

Solution:

go to setting->carrier and disable automatic and select Airtel Ind or somenetwork which has Airtel in the string(as vodafone is taking airtel 3g connection ensure you enable mobile data and 3g) and you can see vodafone 3g on top

Note: if you are disabling 3g change to vodafone network again

This is more like a temporary workaround and one that does not always work. I have tried everything and there is just no answer to this. Vodafone had put down the blame on Apple saying that it is an issue with the handset and when I talked to the Apple Care folks, they laid the blame on Vodafone India.

If anyone has any solution, please post.

Even i m having an iPhone 5 and recently purhcased a Vodaphone Number.
I tried calling customer care, visited the local store, No one could help.

Even i had activated the 3G Pack on my Vodaphone number from the very first day.

then by reading your comments,

I CHANGED FROM AUTOMTIC SELECTION TO MANUAL SELECTION.

AUTOMATICALLY it was using : VODAPHONE

MANUALLY i selected it to : VODAPHONE IN

AND TADA... IT WORKED AND I JUST RESTARED MY iPhone 5 and there it was ...

THE 3G SIGN ON THE THE LEFT SIDE TOP OF THE STATUS BAR ON MY IPHONE. 😉😁

I'm facing the same problem of 3g on my iphone5. It does show capital E but never connects. I did change the carrier from Automatic to Manual, and restarted my phone. It still doesn't work. All it says you are not subscribed to a cellular data service.

Does anyone has any idea what to do now.

Downloaded iOS 7 with a hope that this will put this issue to rest. But the problem still persists. Talked with Apple Support and according to them the issue is with Vodafone...Vodafone says the issue is with Apple and the fix has to come from them...looks like the only solution is to move to Airtel or some other carrier.
