Bluetooth Mouse movement on Mac Mini Core Duo

Bluetooth mouse movement and tracking is a bit strange. The pointer overshoots the target and 'hugs' the edge of the screen. It's not a problem with one particular mouse - two different manufacturers behave in exactly the same way. Both mice work fine on my PPC machines. Any ideas or solutions?

Mac Mini Core Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.6), Also have G3 iMac; G4 iMac and 12" G4 iBook in household.

I use a Logitech MX900 Bluetooth mouse with my PowerBook and for the most part it works fine. There are times when it just loses the plot and behaves like yours. I don't think it is a case of insufficient bandwith as Michael suspects but more a problem with intereference. I do notice that when there is a high use of my Airport connection the erratic behaviour is more prevalent.

If you use both Airprt ans Bluetooth concurrently you might want to switch off Airport off to see if your mouse goes any better.

Either way though you will find that a wireless USB mouse to perform better under most, if not all, situations.

The Apple wireless KB and mouse work fine on my Intel Mini. I've had it less than a month but so far it works like it should. I don't use the Mini for Photoshop work but I haven't noticed any problems and I've used it everyday since I got it.

I, too, am having this problem with my mini. It happens with both the apple wireless keyboard and mouse that I purchased with the computer. Even at a distance of 4 feet the bluetooth loses signal.

At first I thought there was some kind of interferance with a signal, but there is nothing else in my area broadcasting or confusing bluetooth.

I'd hate to return the mini or lose all the data I have if something were really wrong with it. However, I need this fixed. Is there a solution (I.E.- USB bluetooth adapter as a workaround) that has worked for someone?

Is this a software issue or hardware?

Like Mike wrote it's quite possible you do have a hardware issue. Having used my mini for that past day now with two Logitech Bluetooth mice I can say that even with Aiport running it should work better.Granted my mouse is within 2ft of my mini. It is in fact more reliable than with my PowerBook at 1ft.

PS I'm no longer using a Bluetooth keyboard for Boot Camp.
