Thanks - this worked for me!
Worked for me too!! Thanks :-)
Worked for me too thanks :-)
Same problem on my Vaio running Vista. By accident, discovered that with Itunes running, after reducing screen resolution to medium, then changing it back to high immediately, magically makes it all fit normally. Stays like that until laptop is rebooted. V Strange.
This seems to have worked. Thanks.

how do i get it to be permanent i have to do it every time
Until Apple fixes the bug, you have to do it every time you open iTunes.
I don't have to do this every time. I also don't know what I might have done to get a permanent setting.
This problem may have something to do with the Windows taskbar. If you toggle the auto-hide option, iTunes will snap fullscreen without being cutoff. It's not perminant, I can't get my iTunes to stay that way after closing it. I've updated to iTunes 11.0.1 and this issue hasn't been fixed yet.
I did the next best thing and did the Windows key + L, then I draged the window to the right and it stays that way. It's not actually in maximised mode but it atleast fills the screen and stays that way.
I can't use iTunes 11.0.1 maximised. I have to drag the corners until it almost fills the screen then leave it there. If I drag too far it maximises and I lose the scroll bars at the right and bottom of the screen :-(
The Windows button plus arrow didn't work for me. Apple, please fix this!! Is there anyway to tell apple about this?
Anyone remember that Apple television commercial "It just works" ...c'mon Apple, lets make sure next time we release a new piece of software, we work out some of the MOST basic of bugs first. Maybe I should buy a Mac, and it'll work right.... hmmmmmm .....oh X that! It's probably what Apple wants me to think, when something on windows behaves odd.... anyone on Mac OS Mountain Lion having this issue? I doubt it.... Ok rant over... I feel better now....
OK, so this (i.e KrispE's advice) works as a workaround, but isn't exactly a fix. Can Apple let us know through this discussion that they're on to this irritating bug, and when we can expect a permanent fix?
Also, I agree with others - if it ain't broke (i.e. previous largely ok version of iTunes for Windows), don't fix it, especially if the "fix" just introduces really very basic fails like this one.
