lost most of my notes

oh, this has saved my marriage just now. My wife just gave me the "where's all my notes" look of death? I'm so VERY glad to know those notes have been saved, unbeknownst to me, on her yahoo account.

Still I'm confused as to why her notes would've disappeared from her phone? I can only venture to guess that when I updated to iOS 7 on my phone (while she did not) something toggled a sync function that now has my icloud-synced notes from my iPhone on hers.

Could that be the case? and if so, what can I do now for her to ensure her notes remain on her iPhone, and that our two sets of notes don't commingle?

If you have a mac, add the web based account to Mail, Contacts & calendars on that and they will ALLl sync to your mac too. from there if you edit them they will "RE-APPEAR" on your iOS devices.

I have seen this issue with web based mail accounts and would love an answer as to why this happens if anyone has figured it out.

I had this exact problem. I found my old notes in my EMAIL folders of all places!!! Check you emails (any emails that you may have used) and see if you can find a folder called NOTES. I couldn't believe my notes were scattered between three different e-mail accounts. If you go to SETTINGS, then Mail, contacts and calenders---check which email addresses are listed, and if any are turned ON, turn them off, then your notes won't be synced to your e-mails and will instead will go to ICloud if you have Icloud set up. Check it out, worked for me. Good luck!

Yes, that's where I found mine too. I had months worth of notes and invitation lists. Found mine in my notes after logging into my email on the computer. Would not show up on my email account on my iphone.

all my notes are gone too in my iphone 5s. now my yellow notes app asks which email account to add the notes in - and my main hotmail account is not listed anymore. when i go to settings/mail for my hotmail account there is no option to turn notes on. i even tried to restore backup from itunes. help!!

question: i have hotmail, and when i go to settings there is no option to "turn the notes on". where can i find the notes that have been deleted?

If they are saved to email account, are they under the notes or in email?

i think they were saved under my hotmail account notes.

I had a similar "where have my Christmas list my Notes gone?' issue today and this is the 2nd time newer Notes have simply disappeared with no apparent reason. I too think this is related to having an iPhone with IOS 7.x and a back level 1st generation iPad that stopped being supported by IOS updates at 5.x but still allows me to synch Notes across devices.

The missing Notes were in my SKY (Yahoo!) web mail under 'Notes' but Apple really do need to sort out this issue once and for all.

Under Launchpad their is "sticky" and "notes" On icloud their is "notes", and on dashboard their is "stickies". And yet none of them connect to eachother, are you sure you are going into the right "notes"?

I went to Settings, then Notes, saw that my Gmail account was my default email.

Went to my gmail account, found my lost notes in the Trash folder.

I did not send them there, but that is where I found them. Then moved them to the gmail inbox as a temp fix.

I still donot know why the notes disappeared and sent to the trash bin.

Thanks so much - you're a legend!! I too went to www.yahoo.com and signed in and woo hoo, there was the folder - I originally thought the Notes folder was within my mail app on ipad2. I am now a happy camper. Cheers!
