And the installer is installing the OS X, during the installation time, I am getting a message as " the remaining: about : 24 minutes"

like this keeps increasing theIn minus.

But the installation is successful. What is the reason and I can not understand why it is happening.

What is the solution, please help me out if anybody knows about it.

I doubt the reason for your problems is missing RAM. Not having enough RAM might result in performance going down, but not in freezes.

I suspect that you, like many others here, have some driver/tool/app, maybe even hardware, installed which is not ML-compatible, perhaps a left-over from before you installed ML. You must check your system carefully, all apps and drivers, especially the Login Items under your user account, for any incompatibilities. Anything not 100% compatible with 10.8.2 must be removed completely. Or updated properly.

Make sure this is the case, and do so first, otherwise no system re-installation or RAM upgrade will help you.

You do not need to be an "engineer" to verify that your apps and stuff are up-to-date and compatible with ML. Just go through...

- the non-Apple, 3rd-party apps in your Applications folder. The vendors should have the newest versions on their websites, and you can compare with what you have, update if necessary, or remove, etc.

- in your user account, look up Login Items if there is anything listed and loading that requires the same verification.

- check your non-Apple hardware (other than drives and media) if its driver is ML-compatible or needs updating.

Do not expect Apple service to do so. And if they do, they won't do it free of charge...

Thanks for your reply.

If I want check the 3rd apps or whatever it may be, first of all I need to reinstall Mountain

Lion OS X in my system as I have erased everything using disk utility mode.

I am unable to download the OS X as the internment is connection here very slow.

Is there any other way to go into system to check? Pls advise.

Is there any other way to download Mountain Lion 10.8 on USB Flash Drive using windows 7 computer? Pls advise,

Or I should use only my MacBook Pro note book.

Kindly advise.

You should use another Internet connection, if you have access to one.

You could try booting from your backup drive.

Since ML is only available on Apple's App Store, you can't use a Windows machine to download it.

With a different Mac, proper Internet access, your Apple ID and a >=8GB USB stick you can, then make a clean ML install exactly following these instructions. In the App Store, you'd find ML under "Purchases".
