How do I update iPhone apps via iTunes 11 on computer

Hello all,

I am trying to update apps on my iPhone 4S through the iTunes 11 appliction on my pc. But I can't figure out how to do it. Can anybody explain me how to do it?

In iTunes 11, when I click on the iPhone icon, it shows the contents of my iPhone. I then click Apps, and I can see the apps that are stored on my phone. But there doesn't seem to be an option to install updated versions of the apps, while the App Store app on my phone says there are updates. I also checked the option "Automatically sync new apps", and I have also authorized the computer in the iTunes store. I am running iTunes version 11.0.0.163.

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1, iTunes version 11.0.0.1

Just off the phone with Apple. When you first open iTunes, you will see on the very left the drop down menu labeled "Music". Click and scroll down to Apps. The screen will change and allow you to update your apps.

For users who have done all of the above and still cant see the Apps drop down - you will need to download any app first to ensure all is OK with iTunes. If this works then just drag and drop you existing apps from Finder or Windows Explorer to get them to be recognised by this hideous new iTunes. Even though my existing iTunes folder was being recognised by iTunes, it did not know my apps where there
