How can I tell which network that my iPhone on?

I been given a Iphone 4s but no idea whcih network it is on, any ideas how I find this out?

You need to Buy a new phone from an authorized apple retailer this time.
I didn't buy it, and if I had I would have, like I have in the past, I alsways get stuff from the correct places.
I'm just trying to get this iphone going, it's for use in a school, but I think they have been ripped off, but I need to know for sure, I guess only other thing is try every networks sim card and if it does not work I know it is a paperweight 😟

My guess is the phone has been hacked and probably imported from another country.
If it was jailbroken or hacked, then there is nothing anyone here can do for you. It sure sounds like that's the case.
