Cannot Sync Ipod Classic with Itunes 11

After installing Itunes 11, I cannot sync my Ipod Classic. It has worked perfectly up until this version. Here are the options I like:

Open Itunes when... -- ON

Sync only checked... -- OFF

Convert higher... ON (128) (I have a LOT of music I like to fit on this little ipod)

Manually manage... -- OFF

Enable Disk Use... -- OFF

I have tried restoring the ipod and resyncing everything, but that doesn't work eiter.

I also got some errors about not being able to copy some podcasts (like 100 of them) when I tried syncing after restoring, but I have seen that before and just ignored it and it still gets stuck.

It gets stuck around song 5, I've left it running for two days and still no progress. Even checking "On this iPod" shows me that no songs have sync'd.

Help?

Sounds promising.

I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who's been brave enough to upgrade to 11.02 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine and had success in converting to 128 kbps on their iPod Classic.

Do the release notes for this version say anything about fixing the bug?

I'd rather not be the guines pig this time. 😕

Oh - and did we get Coverflow back?

Cheers

The new version works for me with Win8 64-bit on both an iPod Classic 80GB and an iPod Video 80GB, both converting to 128kbps.

Strangely, whilst the Classic synced normally (i.e.just the tracks added since the last successful sync a few weeks ago), the older Video performed a complete resync, which took overnight to complete.

Anyway, all seems good again...

Just wanted to thank you on the advice and directions on reverting to iTunes 10.7. This week's release on iTunes 11 messed up my library of over 28,000 songs and I couldn't sync from the iPod either. I spent hours last night rebuilding the library with the thought of many more hours to spend on it today. Then I came across your recommendation in this thread. I was up and running in relatively no time. I think I'm just going to stick with 10.7 from now on. I only use this installation for my 2 iPod Classics so there's really no compelling reason to upgrade. Plus, the UI is better in 10.7. Thanks again for the advice!

I have had this problem for a couple of months now but when I upgraded to itunes version 11.0.2, I was beginning it was something other than iTunes. I bought a new USB cable and now everything works perfectly. I have the iPod classic 160gb which I purchased back in 2008 and my PC is running Windows Vista (32bit). My iPod contains 38gb of MP3's ripped with a bitrate of 320 or 192 (mostly 320). I do NOT use the iPod for storage only for listening to music. There is nothing wrong with iTunes, because I just synced version 11.0.2 with the new USB cable. I hope this helps somebody else solve their issues becuase I was pretty bummed out not being able to synch for the past two months.

I've also had problems related to USB cables in the past but in this particular case (mine) I tried a number of cables (Apple branded, no name, short, long) but nothing helped with that newer iTunes v11 version synchronization bug.

On the other hand with v10.7 none of the cables I was using gave me a problem. Likewise Rick Sarum, I've lost too many hours to risk another upgrade without some serious garanty that it will work.

I don't undertand why (as far as I know) no Apple representatives has taken position on this issue yet.
