Remote app troubles

Prior to itunes 11 my iphone and ipad were both able to see my itunes library on my pc. After upgrading to itunes 11 both my devices cannot see itunes at all. The crazy part is that my Apple TV which is hardwired can see my itunes library without a hitch and both my ipad and iphone can see my Apple TV without a problem. Any suggestions would be great to get everything back in working order. Thank you in advance.

Well, are you sure the Remote app is up to date? That would be something to check first. After you've done that then your install might have turned off Home Sharing. GO to "File... Home Sharing" and turn it on.


Now, hopefully that helps, although since I don't have an Apple TV I don't know if it uses the "home sharing" option or not when it's directly connected to the computer.

Hmm. Next thing I would try is manually plugging them in to the computer? Possibly they got unsynced, I've had that happen at random.


Next suggestion would be a restoration of the devices to a backup from a day you are sure they still worked. This would get you back to a time when it worked, and hopefully whatever made it not work won't happen a 2nd time 🙂
