My son has a Ipod Touch 3gen but old games not working because the games have updated for the newest IOS but his ipod touch hasnt got the latest software update for it?

I brought my son a Ipod touch 3rd Gen as he doesn't need a camera but just wants to play games, when he had it all his fav games worked (temple run etc) but now the Apps have been updated to use on the latest ISO his touch has no upgrade on software so when he tries to download the games again it says he needs the latest ISO to install them but when i plug the touch in to Itunes there is no update available??


He has the software version 4.2.1

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Are you sure you really do not have a 2G iPod? Those can only go to 4.2.1 while a 3G to 5.1.1
