Multiple Windows in iTunes 11?
How can I open multiple iTunes windows using iTunes 11? Before updating, I was able to have multiple playlist windows open. So far, iT11 looks nice, but functions poorly.

You can open Windows Explorer as a file browser alongside iTunes with the selected playlist you want to add to. Files that are already in the iTunes library will be added to the playlist without being duplicated in the library.

best five-bucks I've ever spent: multi-window / playlist organizing functionality like the days of yore...
totally fixes what apple f'd up.
my comments are being Censored by Apple. Not very democratic
Check out the Apple Support Communities Terms of Use. This is Apple's site, it's not a democracy.

Also annoyed that this feature is gone. So annoying that I can't compare different playlists easily now. I miss iTunes 10.... even if it was bloated and slower.
That would be great if you could provide links for windows users, I can't do anything with damage files.
There is an option to drag files to playlists. It's not a seperate window but it is a split window. Go to "Playlists" and they will all be listed on the left. Select and highlight a playlist now click on the gear icon at the bottom of your list of playlists and click on "edit playlist." Now it will show up on the right and you can drag away.

It seems like the "multiple window" ability in Itunes has been discarded permanently, huh? This is too bad. For multi-taskers like myself, I really enjoyed and felt productive being able to view 5, 6, even more playlists I'm building at the same time, while scrolling through my library. Now working with Itunes has become a cumbersome, plodding mental exercise that is more like a job then a pleasure.
I know that I've bought far less music since this change over, and I wonder if that trend is wider spread.
This reminds me of Apple's moves forward in the past that brought outcry: the iMac with no floppy drive, for example. At those times they were seeing the direction computing was headed in the near future and pushing us reluctantly into it. That made sense.
Is that the thinking behind this? Are they anticipating the demise of the laptop and rise of tablet based computing? Maybe. But even on a tablet, I'd hope for functionalitiy to increase - give the user more optins - than decrease.
To sum up:
1) I buy less music.
2) All my friends say "Just switch to Spotify."
Add me to the list of people wanting multiple windows back. Large lists get VERY unwieldy.
The following was originally deleted by apple: From what I understand after using iTunes on and off for years, the problems we have as windows users are because Apple (wow, love how my iPhone auto capped their name lol) will not build a version FOR windows. Instead giving windows users a glitchy, buggy port of the same program written for Apple hardware/software! Um, ok? Where does this make sense? And Why did they take away multiple windows for iTunes? Man! I tried making a new playlist the other day and stopped after I realised how frustratingly annoying it is when you can't drag and drop between windows! Ugh!
And that was posted under the new topic called "from the ground up" which apple deleted because the host said I violated something in the TOS for posting? Come on. What was the old motto? Think different? More like "We tell you what to think."
This may be a lame workaround, but it does allow me to see two playlists at the same time. Specifically, I am able to see my "Music" list and one other playlist by using my iPad with my computer. I open the desired playlist on the iPad and have iTunes open to my "Music" list. I can add songs to the playlist, and in a few seconds the playlist on the iPad updates to show the addition. Since this is currently my only use for multiple windows, it's the only solution I need at the moment. It may help you as well.
We so need this back. Please. Hit like like like and maybe it get spotted.
One good thing about having multiple windows open is that yu can drag the song in the spot you want it instead of getting it on the bottom of a playlist and have to scroll it up :/
What I sometiems end up doing is show song in finder (yes crazy) and drag it from there into the open plalist where I want it. It seems to use the same file and not add a copy to the lib.
BRING IT BACK APPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In iTunes 12 you can view two playlists simultaneously.
