flash player not working in safari

I've posted this question – probably mistakenly – in the iMac forum and didn't get anywhere, so I'm trying here instead, since it's Safari related.

On my new iMac, I've installed the latest Flash player but when I try to play video on Safari 6.0.2, I'm only getting audio, no images – just a white screen. You can see the problem here: http://londonrififi.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/skunk-anansie-2009-intervie w-skin-and.html. I've tried uninstalling, re-installing to no effect. No problems with flash on Chrome or Firefox, and when I uninstall Flash, Safari can play video. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I did try that extension and, as you say, it gets the videos working, but I don't want Flash universarlly disabled, on all videos and all sites, and having to always use HTML5.

I've put the same videos on a different test page, also on blogger, and there's the same problem, Dailymotion vids don't play, youtube is okay.

clearly looks like a bogspot.co.uk issue in compatiblity with Safari... I'd suggest you ping their support as it's been reproduced by others here and it works with Firefox etc. Also the DailyMotion videos play fine in other sites as well as directly at Dailymotion directly from Safari...

My guess is they will need to fix it.

Not a blogger issue, I don't think, because I've just tested the exact same three videos – two from dailymotion, one from youtube – on a Wordpress site I own with exactly the same results: dailymotion vids don't work, youtube one okay. Must mean a dailymotion issue with Safari?

Most probably in the way they create the embed string it is not compatible with the new browser. Still something I would bring up with DailyMotion then...

No, not using oembed. Are you suggesting that when embedding a dailymotion video in a post in Safari, it's worth using this: http://www.dailymotion.com/services/oembed?format=json

followed by the video permalink – e.g.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xuc1pp_skunk-anansie-2009-interview-skin-and-ac e-part-4_music

In which case, how should a combination of these two links read?

Check out this URL: http://www.dailymotion.com/doc/api/oembed.html

It will explain how. If blogspot supports it then yes it would work just type your post as you normally would and add the url into it as explained.. it will convert it to what it needs to be! thats it. works with wordpress and many others so should work...

This issue has now been reported to Adobe Flash, who think it may be a bug and are looking into it. I'll get back if a Flash-bug is the source of the problem.

You may want to temporarily disable DivX. Some people found that when DivX was installed, videos on Apple's own web site would not play until it was either disabled or removed. If the site you are trying is similarly programmed, that could be the issue. It's an easy test to perform.

I uninstalled DivX from my system and, unfortunately, Flash videos still not working in Safari.
