Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

S.M.A.R.T. failure and cannot open Mac partition

I can still load up Windows just fine but for some reason can't open up the Mac OS parition. I got Disk Utility up but it just says "The drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired" Please help!

You can not use a disc from another machine. So maybe the bad ram message is wrong.


Do this right, you have Lion but you mention a disc? Lion never came on disc. STOP before this gets worse.


You have now lost everything (when you erased the disc) and you can not restore it from disc. Unfortunately when you erased the disc you may have erased the recovery partition, so boot with the cmd-r command again and see if there is one.
