S.M.A.R.T. failure and cannot open Mac partition

I can still load up Windows just fine but for some reason can't open up the Mac OS parition. I got Disk Utility up but it just says "The drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired" Please help!

In the recovery partition select Install OSX etc, choose the flash drive as the destination, now you have a bootable copy of OSX on a flash drive, reboot to the flash drive (hold option at the sound of the chime, choose the flash drive) and use its tools to reinstall to your HDD.


I think your drive may be the issue but why not try.


The installer is 3.81GB in size, is your flash drive large enough?
