I can still load up Windows just fine but for some reason can't open up the Mac OS parition. I got Disk Utility up but it just says "The drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired" Please help!

it seems like this is a software issue and not a hardware one. I'm going to try and load up Lion from a USB. How would I go about doing that?

No, I don't but i do have a usb!
In the recovery partition select Install OSX etc, choose the flash drive as the destination, now you have a bootable copy of OSX on a flash drive, reboot to the flash drive (hold option at the sound of the chime, choose the flash drive) and use its tools to reinstall to your HDD.
I think your drive may be the issue but why not try.
The installer is 3.81GB in size, is your flash drive large enough?

I just want to make sure I try everything before replacing anything.
Worst case, a hard drive is less than $100, shop carefully and it's a lot less.
And think about backup, none of this needed to happen if you had backed up, you are in fact invulnerable with a proper backup.
So, when I tried to put Lion on the USB it said I need to log into an apple account but it seems my account hasn't purchased Lion?
I was going to buy Lion again but it looks like you can't get it anymore.

Insert your Snow Leopard installation disk and install OSX, upgrade to 10.6.8. Load the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion, install it.

Yes, nothing is installed now.
