Play count not updating in iTunes 11

I have added the Play Count column to the songs list, but they're all blank, and after playing songs they're still blank. (Last played date is also blank on all songs).

Might have been a conversion glitch, although I got no errors. However still as I play songs nothing is updated.

Any suggestions toe get it working again (or to restore them from before conversion) would be appreciated.

the new update fixed nothing, i have the same problem: short songs (under 10 secs.) dont update their play count, that is anoying ;(

Also have v11.0.2.26 with the same problem of songs under 10 secs not incrementing number of plays and last date played. Functions worked before v11. I can reedit a song/file to 11 sec or more and all is fine. Crossfade setting is not used. Called Apple Support thinking their "experts" could help. Was told they never heard of the problem and they never heard of songs under 10 secs. Then they hung up on me. Not too happy with Apple or iTunes at the moment!!
