Where is genius on new iTunes 11 to make suggestions from iTunes store

In older iTunes a string of genious suggestions showed on side which was linked to iTunes store. In iTunes 11 it's gone. While there are genious suggestions while browsing the store itself, it appears that feature is gone in iTunes 11 when playing music from your own list.

I purchaed a lot of music from their suggestions while I was listening to music I had purchased so hope they didn't do away with it.

Yes I can make a genius playlist anytime comprised of my purchased music, but thought the side suggestions from the store was very helpful.

Think it was a mistake for Apple to dump. Also no more setting to search for duplicates in my playlist anymore in iTunes 11 either.

Two ways to get very similar results to the genius we all loved. I don't think it matches as well--maybe a different algorithm? Apple really made a mistake with this change. For iTunes 11

From your library click on the right arrow and select "show in iTunes store"

Look below at "Listeners also bought"

Sort of like the old genius but not as good of a match

If you just bought the song you seek to match go to the store and look on the right side under quick links. Clic the song, select recommended for you on right under quick links

Look for "Listeners also bought>"

Perhaps a better way to do this . . .

1. Deauthorize computer and then authorize it.

2. Under STORE, turn Genius on . . . you will be required to enter Apple ID and password for iTunes and other Apple purchases.

3. iTunes examines your music library and, voila, Genius and Genius Mixes appear in the sidebar as they were with other versions.

Try it!

I totally agree. I have made so many of my purchases because of the suggestions that the iTunes store listed.....this was fun for me to try out new music of genres that I enjoy. Now that feature is gone I don't buy nearly as much music. Do they realize how much money they're losing?? I would rather have that feature back and get rid of the app lists which are really annoying and severely slow down the page.

I am here for MUSIC....bummer
