OSX update received error (3072) any idea what this?
trying to update OSX through the App Store keeps giving this error message
The operation was cancelled.(3072)
Also applies to the update for iTunes.

Just Google "Mac error 3072". You will find a collection of notes and opinions.
Restarting my computer solved this for me.
Maybe this will help. If you monitor the "More Like This" box, other solved threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads:

I have had the same problem.
The reason for me was that there was another user account open on my Mac, and that had iTunes open. I switched to the other user, closed iTunes, and tried again, and it then worked OK
