It could be as simple as one has coverage whilst the other does not
Are your devices set to receive on both or just on one?
Also consider changing to the latest IOS on the Phone
My iPad has wifi only. But my wife sent a message by her iPhone and I received it on my iPad only not on my iPhone which of course has coverage.
My iPad is wifi only.My wife sent a text on her iPhone and I received it on my iPad but not on my iPhone .This seems backwards.
I am trying to figure this out too. I think it has to do with whether or not the iphone has MMS Messaging set to on or not. The "Send as SMS" is used when an Internet connection isn't available when MMS is enabled (set to ON). Is your iphone number listed in the "You can be reached by iMessage at:" section on your iphone? There is also a list of email addresses associated with your Apple ID listed.
This is terribly confusing!
here's an irony. I have been messaging this discussion on my iPad, but received siamiam's reply on my iPhone only. everything is set to on and listed.
