ybsunsmiled... In a previous post (could be here or in another Apple discussion, I stated that a simple oversight caused the retail boxes to be printed without the 32-bit requirement. Again, an error on our part. Keep in mind that boxes are printed months before they appear on a retailer's shelf and at that time, we didn't realize 32-bit was a requirement. Since that time, however, we have done our best to disclose this requirement everywhere possible.
To my knowledge, every single customer who has been affected and wanted another TurboTax solution has been satified without paying a penny more. While some retailers will not accept opened software, our agreement with retailers obligates them to accept any return. With that said, I know that this does not always happen in practice. That is why, again, we'll step in and make the customer whole.
So let me know which option your prefer and I'll make it happen. As mentioned dozens of times in earlier posts, you can:
- Use Windows if available. You data files are 100% compatible so you won't lose any historical info year-to-year.
- Use TurboTax Online. Again, you have 100 data file compatibility and transfer
- User TurboTax for iPad. Again, same data file compatibility
- Get a refund and look elsewher.
By the way, Windows 32 / 64-bit are completely different from the Apple OS 32 / 64-bit issue. Being able to do it on one OS does not mean you can do it on the other OS. Two different animals.
Based on the email I received from you, you know how to reach me with your answer.
Thanks,
Bob Meighan, VP TurboTax
