Thanks for responding. That scares me a little because I don't have the original purchase receipt. I've had my phone for quite some time, but purchased it online and I don't think I have the copy. My husband is going to the Apple Store to get it checked out after he gets off work. ( I work in another town and just got home. ) Hoping they can fix it.

Would you have the email with the purchase info? I couldn't retrieve my receipt from apple.com but did have the purchase confirmation email and forwarded that to the guy who was working with me. I did eventually get the receipt to open and sent that but he said they got what they needed off of the purchase confirmation. Maybe that'll help? I feel you're frustration. I hope you get everything back in working order soon. Let me know how it goes! Good luck.

After two hours of talking to AT&T, Apple, and a SENIOR ADVISOR from Apple, I have an appointment to get a new replacement phone at the Apple Store Monday. I have a feeling my next phone may be an Android after all this crap. IRONIC HOW THE SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX BUG FIXES IS WHAT KILLED MY PHONE! It wasn't AT&T. It was Apple. The Senior Advisor was very nice though, and handled the appointment scheduling and everything for me.

I tried everything after talking to AT&T and Apple, and I have to get a whole new phone, but they aren't charging me or anything. He said the phone just died and glitched when I did the software update. I've been an iPhone owner for 3 years, and an Apple user for longer than that, and I have NEVER had anything happen like this.. I just got unlucky I guess.

Yeah.... I've had iPhone for years and never had this much trouble. I will definitely not do updates for at least a month after they come out now. And it seems to only affect the 4s phones. Everyone I know with one had some sort of major issue-and very few were the same! The 4's and 5's seem to been unaffected. I'm glad you got a good senior adviser. Mine was fabulous. I've seriously thought about getting different brand phone but....if I change I lose my unlimited everything. I'm grandfathered in as long as I keep an iPhone-at least that's what att has told me for past few years. Good luck with the new phone!

I'm with you on the updates. Instead of waiting a few days or week, I'm going to wait a few weeks to a month and see if any problems. This has definitely been the worst experience with my iPhone so far. I've had a glitch here and there but never something as drastic as this. Definitely a huge pain. Really scary how dependent we are on our technology.
