The warranty does not cover any accidental damage. So I would go to another store and get a second price.

When you say the upper case are you talking about the Screen or where the trackpad and keyboard are?

Apple does not Replace just the aluminum shell on the screen. They replace the complete unit. Screen, camera, WiFi antenna and nthe aluminum shell. It is one piece replacement and it certainly would cost much more then the proce you were quoted.

I am talking about the upper case where the track pad and everything keyboard is , not the screen , it got dented on the eithernet cable side , so the apple genius person told me that they need to replace the whole of keyboard because it is included in the upper housing of the system - by upper housing i mean

So if ifixit says its 299 for a used product how can apple be cheaper than a third party company - but ntl i have taken an apointment to drop my macbook next weekend at the store for replacement of the housing , i dont mind paying 180$ to apple and they have also provided me a reference number so i have a proff againt them.

That sound very low. To do that they have to take the complete system apart and then put it all back together in the new case. And actually it is a New case as what you are calling the upper housing holds all the parts. The bottom is just a thin piece of aluminum.

Yeak looking at the link you posted I'd say whoever you talked to gave you the wrong price. More like $300-$400 with labor.
