How do I remove iTunes 11 and go back to iTunes 10?
I truly dislike iTunes 11, for reasons I won't bore you with. How do I remove it and go back to iTunes 10?
Thank you!
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Pastorbmk_CA, can you tell me what I did wrong? Or anyone can you help? I followed your instructions and I'm back on iTunes 10.7. However, I can't find my playlists. Is there a way to find the playlists? Also, its telling me it couldn't import everything because I don't have enough HD space. Did I not delete something correctly? My movies and podcasts are not there either. Can someone help?

I passionately dislike this new version. This is how I got rid of it and went back to iTunes 10.7 that works great!
1. Enable root user
2. Log out
3. Log in as root user
4. Go to applications folder
5. Delete iTunes icon
6. Go to Trash
7. Press and hold command while clicking on trash for secure delete - delete iTunes 11 forever !
8. Search in your homefolder for iTunes Library.ITL and delete all of them
9. Log out of root user
10. Log in as ususal
11. Download iTunes 10.7 from Apple's Website
12. Install iTunes 10.7
13. Go to /Music/iTunes/ and delete the iTunes library.itl file.
14. Go to /Music/iTunes//Previous iTune slibraries.
15. Copy (not move) the most recent iTunes library file to /Music/iTunes/ and rename it iTunes library.itl.
16. Open iTunes. Everything is there. Not need to import anything.
Open iTunes
On the iTunes File menu at the top of the screen choose: File>Library>import playlists.
A search window will open
Navigate to your home folder>music>itunes and choose the file: iTunes Music Library.xml.
Then wah-lah, iTunes restored my playlists.
Hope this works for you.
Hello pastorbmk_CA, I tried and followed your instructions but I hit a snag somewhere and screwed it all up. So I went in and deleted everything again, this time I used appzapper to delete everthing then held down the command button then hit the trash can and deleted it, then let go of the command button. I reinstalled iTunes 10.7 using pacifist and it worked flawlessly. I did lose my playlists but I can spend time recreating them and making newer ones in the process. Anyway I'm now back on 10.7 and loving every minute of it! For those interested here is the YouTube video explaining the process that I used:

Hope you all get back to iTunes 10.7 because it just crushes iTunes 11! Period!

See my post above.
Tried it with my wife's macbook pro, she hates iTunes 11.4. Here is what I did this time, also, I did not back up anything... Ok, so
I'm really surprised how easy it was.
I can't tell you how terrible iTunes 11.4 is, big deal they put a music player, I can get that with pandora add free by using Add Block plus in google chrome: http://adblockplus.org/en/chrome
Does Apple just ignore the fact that iTunes 11 is the worst thing ever they could have done? I thought they would do something about it but WWDC but no.
U-S-E-L-E-S-S
Gone back to itunes 10.7
Apple what has become of you..
