Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just got an iphone 5 running iOS 6.0.1 and my yahoo contacts are not sycning with it. The email is working fine, but none of my yahoo contacts are showing up. When I open the contacts app and touch "groups" Yahoo doesn't even show up as a contact group. I even have Yahoo set as my default email, but Yahoo doesn't appear at all under contacts. Is anyone having this problem and/or does anyone know what to do???

Exact same problem here. Just got a new iPhone5 with iOS 6.0.1. Mail is syncing with Yahoo, but not contacts. I spent an hour with Apple support tonight. They had no great ideas, except to call Yahoo support.
I also just noticed our other iPhone5 iOS 6.0.1 (which used to sync just fine) did not sync a change I made this morning.
I suspect something is wrong with Yahoo! contact syncing in the past few days.
Well, glad you're seeing it fixed because I'm not. Still not syncing contacts for me. Mail - OK, Calendar - OK, Contacts - not OK....

Same here. I added my Yahoo account and selected contacts, email, and calendar. Went to contacts. Nothing there. Went back and recycled the contacts switch. Bam! There they were. Looks like they might be back in the game!

Since my initial sync, I haven't been able to get any newly added contacts to sync either way.
Just saw the email alert from this discussion. I too just noticed that "YAHOO" is now available in my "Contacts" group which it has not been for the last few weeks. I unselected "Google" and sure enough, I'm seeing all my Yahoo contacts now. I have yet to verify that they are actually "snycing" when I add in Yahoo or my phone, but it's a good first step to be able to see them as an option again. Currently it is acting if it is syncing because my little wheel is spinning while I'm in contacts. Hopefully they have fixed the issue.

Oh no, it's happening again! Contacts re-appeared after these original posts (Dec. 2012), but now most of mine have disappeared again! Some have remained, but in no particular pattern. Is anyone else having this issue again? Started Wed. Jan. 9.
This issue is happening in my iphone 4, yahoo is not syncing contacts with iphone. i tried deleting yahoo account and adding it multiple times. any updates guys? thanks.
Yes, this is still a problem apparently on the Yahoo side.. I am encountering all the symptoms previously posted for my wife on iPhone 4, iPad2, iPad mini, MacBook retina. I recently switched to iCloud so not an issue. Thinking about doing the same for her. This is so bad, Apple should threaten punitive action on Yahoo. It makes the whole system look like false advertising junk.
