Facetime icon disappeared from iPhone 5

Hello

I recently bought an iPhone 5 16gb variant from india. The problem I am facing is that the facetime icon has suddenly disappeared from my phone. It is still accessible from contacts but I am quite sure it was there as a separate icon as well as I have used many times. Now I tried searching for this problem but I saw a lot of people saying that the icon isn't there on an iPhone. Now Om quite sure it was there on my iPhone 5 running 6.0.1 iOS. So there is no doubt on my mind about that. It was surely there as till yesterday only I used the icon to access facetime. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

wow. while i was looking for further proof that there is no facetime icon on the iphone i found this, it's actually one of the first to come up when googling:

http://www.technipages.com/iphone-facetime-icon-is-missing-from-home-screen.html

and this:

these are some of the top results so maybe all this bad info is why people think they had a facetime icon...which they never did of course.

OK. Whatever. The "never has been" responses sound pretty nasty to me. But what do I know. I've had my iPhone 5 for little more than a week and just decided to look for the facetime icon today.

I can tell you this: the instruction to use the Contact app is useless.

There is no Contact app. Or rather, no stand-alone Contact app. It's in the Phone app. The only icons at the bottom are Favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keypad, and Voicemail.

The only Facetime Icon I see is on the list of calls. it shows the Facetime call I made to my iPhone from my IPad (and back) hoping that would wake the "missing" Facetime Icon.

So my point is: other than a bunch of self satisfied bellowing, I have yet to see a SOLUTION provided for the PROBLEM of how to make a Facetime call from an iPhone5!

Darn it there is no edit. So mistakes stay posted. Plus I need to post again to add what I should have last time. Yes it's obvious but only if you look.

So for the next guy look inking here for his Facebook Icon after finding his Contact app in the Phone app click on one of your contacts. You will see a number of icons including the Facetime Icon.

Yes, There is a FaceTime ICON on the Iphone 5. If you can't see it, do what I did:

Check Restrictions

Sometimes family members or anybody with access to your iPhone will accidentally change settings. If the restriction settings are changed, it can limit what icons are shown on the home screen, including the Facetime icon.

1. Select Settings > General > Restrictions.

2. Type the passcode. If you didn’t set the passcode, ask anybody who had access to the device if they set one.

3. Set the Facetime restriction to On. It should look like it does in the image below.

User uploaded file

Note: Also ensure that Camera is enabled. Facetime will not work unless Camera is enabled.

This should unhide the Facetime button on the iPhone, iPad and even the iPod Touch.

When you activate the FaceTime icon, it sends you to your contacts. You select a contact and if you have their mobile phone listed, you will see a little FaceTime Icon that you can activate....

I hope that this alleviates any of the hostility and confusion from earlier post.
