iTunes isn't syncing playlists to iPhone

I have been searching and searching for an answer to the problem I am having, but there is nothing... Here you go:

I noticed recently that I couldn't edit my playlists on my iPhone... I would move songs around and when I closed the edit window, it would go back to the original list. So I tried to make edits in iTunes and sync with my phone and found that iTunes will no longer let me sync my music. I have included a screen shot. User uploaded file

Last night I tried restoring the iPhone in hopes that it would help, and it didn't.

On a side note, I have an old iPod Nano that is not having the same issues. I have been able to update my playlists on the iPod with no problem.

Could this been an issue with iCloud? The new iTunes?

I figured something out... If you have music in the cloud, but isn't downloaded on to the computer, it won't be included on your playlist.

You also need to make sure that iTunes Match is turned on.

If that doesn't work for you, contact Apple. The new iTunes has made working with playlists more complicated and they need to correc it.

Yep same for me. I tried to creat a new playlist to see if it would sync and it did. So I then copied all the same music from the one playlist that would not sync into the new one and I got the error message saying some songs where not in icloud so it would delete it from my other devices (e.g. iphone). So i went through to see which songs where not compatable and left those out. It seems to have worked for me.

I am having the same difficulties syncing my playlist in itunes with my iphone. When I look at the music that is on my iphone via itunes it says there are 184 songs, but there are only 104 songs that I can access on my iphone. In reading through this feed at one point it says you have to turn off itunes match to make the phone sync, then later on it says you MUST have itunes match turned on. I have tried both on and off and still cannot get the playlist I set up in itunes to update the playlist on my phone.

I was having the same problem, however, the problem is NOT iTunes, it's your iphone or iPad. Just go to settings on your iPhone or iPad, scroll down to iTunes & App Store and turn off iTunes Match, then go to the next app which is music, and turn iTunes Match off. Now go back to iTunes on your computer, and press sync, the itunes Match will be removed, now you will have to check which playlist you want to add. Enjoy your music.

Likewise, have the issue. If I update playlists on the computer, it doesn't transfer over to the phone. Under the phone info on iTunes in the computer, it shows all the added songs greyed out and not sync'd. Can't get it to sync. Match is off on App/Music on the phone as well as Show all music on. Just tried to uncheck the playlist on iTunes to remove and reload the playlist, but it won't come off the phone, nor reload the new list (renamed). Thoughts?

This might not be the most efficient solution but it worked for me...

1. Delete the playlist from your pc and/or iphone.

2. Create the playlist again and play every song on the playlist through your pc.

3. Re-sync your iPhone to iTunes on your pc.

For some reason it works if you have played the song at least once through your pc iTunes. This saves you having to subscribe to iTunes Match.
