iTunes 11 download iTunes Extras keep getting Error-19

I've downloaded Avengers with iTunes Extras using iTunes 11 running under OS 10.6.8. Film downloads fine. Everytime I try to download extras it gets to the end of 1.65gb then comes up with (err = -19). It lists the file in iTunes but it is greyed out. When i click on it, then go to 'get info' it only says 45.5mb but it says it's location is iCloud. Surely it should have downloaded into my iTunes media folder on my iMacs hard drive. Been in contact with Apple they don't seem to know how to solve the problem. Directed me to a discussion on iTunes LP's which is from 2009.

They also keep going on about firewall and web acceleration. It can't be a firewall issue i've been downloading music and films the past couple of days and I don't use any web acceleration, plus I have set up rules in my firewall preferences to allow the iTunes url's access. Anyone have a clue as to what is happening, personally I think it's a store and iTunes 11 problem.

I have been for the almost 2 weeks not trying to download the LP for Sgt. Peppers album, but it keeps giving me the err -19 message.

I have tried the suggestions from ealier posts, but that has not helped.

I have tried to delete the album and go back into iTunes and purchaes it again, but it will not download the album because it keeps trying to the LP file only.

I am going into an Apple store and talke to their "genius" to see if he/she can help. Keep everyone posted as to what happens.

@Chrisills

I am using Snow Leopard and iTunes 11.

I am still trying to figure out the solution on my own, and have an idea.

I have iTunes on my work PC, but not attached to my account or any music on it, pretty much a virgin iTunes. I logged into my account at work and downloaded the album and file that is giving me the error at home. The thought is if I have the album on a thumbdrive and replace the version I have at home, all should be fixed.

I tried the solutions mentioned in earlier posts, but when I open iTunes it still saw that I have an item to download. But my work machine has a version of iTunes 10 dot something, and when I logged in and looked for available downloads it found the Sgt. Pepper LP file, downloaded it right away with no problems. And when I checked again for available downloads, iTunes told me I had none.

So my plan is when I get home to delete the download file in the iTunes folder, open iTunes and hopefully it will no longer try and get the LP file. Then if that works, just import the Sgt. Peppers album back into my music area and winner-winner chicken dinner all should be fixed. In theory it should be all fixed now.

If this works, or does not work, I will let you know. But I am hoping this could be the answer to everyones err -19 issue.

I thought I would pass along my experience to see if it helps anyone else.

I have a Mac mini running Snow Leopard that uses a NetGear ReadyNAS for media file storage (i.e. my iTunes library is on the NAS). I have several 1st generation Apple TVs that stream media from the Mac mini. After upgrading to iTunes 11 in mid-December, I started experiencing issues with downloading video-related (movies, tv shows, album LP) artwork and all of my new iTunes Extras files would fail to download/import. The use of the NAS seems to be a key variable for me. If I download my media directly to a local drive (including an attached USB drive) everything works fine. I found that in cases where my media had successfully downloaded in the past but needed to be downloaded again, I could use the "Add to Library..." menu item to manually import the iTunes Extras files that were successfully downloaded on a local drive. You can use the same technique for reloading iTunes Extras files that have never been successfully downloaded. However, my Mac mini server still wants to download them for me and so I had to deal with the errors every time I downloaded something new.

I decided to pay the $20 and upgrade the Mac mini to Mountain Lion to see if the change would help. I am now able to download all of the iTunes Extras files without the famous -19 error. However, I am experiencing situations where some iTunes Extras files are never moved from the "Downloads" folder into the appropriate "Movies" folder. The files are still accessible and playable, they are just stored in the wrong location. I have attempted to manually move the files into their proper location with the intent of telling iTunes about their new location when it can't locate them but for some reason, I am not allowed to manipulate the content in the "Downloads" folder.

The good news is that I'm receiving all of my content and not getting any download errors. The bad news is there are still some issues that Apple needs to work out.

It worked.

If anyone is having issues downloading LP files in iTunes 11, you might want to try this.

What you need:

A 2nd computer that has an older version of iTunes on it. (not sure if a 2nd computer with iTunes 11 will work, I used a version that was 10.x)

USB thumbdrive or USB card

Log into your account on the 2nd computer that has the older iTunes on it and download the file that you need. This should clear out your iTunes 11 from thinking you still have a file to download.

Once the file you need is downloaded, copy it over to the SD card or USB drive.

Go to your main computer, look in Music>iTunes>iTunes Media for a folder labled Download. That should have the file that iTunes 11 keeps thinking you need to get.

Delete the Download folder.

Copy the file you downloaded from the other computer onto your main machine.

Open iTunes 11 and under the store tab to see if you still have availible downloads, which you should not now.

Import the file you downloaded from the other computer into iTunes and that should take care of the problem.

I was going to go to the Apple store to see if someone there can take care of the issue. But right now I am not going to since the problem I have seems to be fixed.

Hope this helps everyone.

I have been contacted by Apple support today saying the engineers have solved the problem. So if you were using iTunes 11 particularly with OS X Snow Leopard you can try to re-download. I tried and I kept getting an error 3150 message, which looking it up is about a network connection. Disable antivirus and check your wi-fi.

I found this weird because on the 23rd of Jan 2013 I downloaded Lawrence of Arabia in 1080p which is over 7gb of data with no problems. I disabled my intego antivrus and the problem remained.

I then quit iTunes, deleted all the stuff out of the downloads temp folder and restarted. Tried again, but it came up with same error on the film this time, I stopped the download, then I did something I've never done before.

I unchecked 'the allow simultaneous downloads' box in the downloads window, which you can access by clicking on the icon next to the search bar top right corner. The Extras downloaded successfully and I can play them with no problems. I then resumed download of the film and that worked as well. So anyone who still has issues with the error 19 or downloading Extras can try this trick to see if it works for you. Byeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
