Unable to install iTunes 11.0.1

Hi, I have iTunes 11 installed on my Mac, however I am unable to install 11.0.1, via Software update or the stand alone installer. Each method presents me with an error from softeare update or a simple "The installation failed" dialoge window in the stand alone installer. I've repaired permissions, restarted, shutdown the iMac, even downloaded them several times. I tried to remove iTunes 11 from the applications folder with no luck as the OS requires the app to be in place. any ideas?

TIA

HT1338 Error 103 App Store Update…: Apple Support Communities. Thank you Derek for the answer. This is something that I am sure that Apple will fix. I had the same problem, which may arise from having multiple “stacked” updates available—Mountain Lion 10.8.1, iMovie, and iPhoto. This resolved it for me

Hi Gattman, I just downloaded the 11.0.1 update from the Support pages. Yes it downloaded as a dmg file. Closed iTunes, Opened it double clicked on the Install iTunes and it worked flawlessly installing over my 11.0.1.

Do you think your download may have been corrupted? As it is small maybe you could delete the dmg from your downloads and redownload from Apple Support pages?

Not yet. I've given up for now. Sick to death of the crap software that apple is putting out of late. They need to get themselves sorted out big time.

I found a few threads regarding error 103 but they were no help. There was another update this morning that went fine. I can't even delete the iTunes app and reinstall it. Now it's a vital part of OS X. DUMB DUMB DUMB.
