iPhone 5 keeps losing network signal when I hold it

Hi,

I received my shiny new iPhone 5 yesterday and after putting up with signal dropping out on my iPhone 4 for 2 years I thought my troubles were over, they are not!

If I hold the iPhone 5 in the palm of my right hand so the bottom right corner is touching my hand I lose a number of bars of connectivity to my network.

Has anyone else experience this issue? If so how did you fix it?

I don’t have a case of the phone or a screen protector for your information.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated before i have to go to Apple with it.

Kind regards,

Dan.

Hi Dantin,

It cannot be the same issue that you stated in the post; that implies there might be some network issue though the reason can’t be for holding in your right hand or so since there’s no such issues been faced by anyone so far.

I would recommend you to perform the below given troubleshooting’s

  • You can try resetting your network settings thru : setting - general - reset - reset network settings.
  • can check for updates on carrier settings
  • Check for a iOS update too or try simple inserting/removing the sim card
