How can I type in Hebrew on my Mac like I can with iPhone/iPad
I want to compose an email in Hebrew.
I can easily do this on my iPhone or iPad by changing the keyboard.

By changing the keyboard. First you have to activate the Hebrew keyboard in system preferences/language & text/input sources. While there, also check the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar and for Keyboard Viewer. Then you go to the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and select Hebrew and type. Select Keyboard viewer from the same menu to see which key does what.
Be aware that Ms Word for Mac does not support RTL scripts like Hebrew. Also Apple Pages has bugs. The best app is Mellel, but TextEdit, Nisus Writer, and OpenOffice should also work fine,
In Mail, do Format > Alignment > Writing Direction if you want to set it to RTL.
