How can I change the view of Download Folder in Dock

I used to have my Download Folder in my Dock show up as a vertical string of icons with the latest at the bottom, when I clicked on the Folder. I recently had to drag the Downloads Folder back into the Dock after it had disappeared from there. After doing that I now notice when I click on the Downloads icon in the Dock, it now shows up as a page full of icons. I prefer the original vertical listing. How can I change it back?

Hope someone can help on this one. Thanks.

Ricght-click on the Dock icon and play around with the settings under "Display as" and "View content as".

Ahhhh....I have it now, I have checked the following, DATE ADDED, STACK and FAN and it is back to where

I had it---I guess 'fan' was the word I was looking for instead of my original statement of a vertical list!😊

That helped. I am feeling silly now. I can't right click with my mouse and I was using the command key instead of the control key to simulate the right click of a mouse. Thanks so much. I get frustrated and then I can't think straight!

I did the same thing. Somehow I made my download folder in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop disappear. When I dragged it back to that spot, it is now large icons instaed of the fan view. I can't find where it says "stack" or "fan". I was able to find "date added" only. 😟
