how do I reinstall iTunes when it reports it's corrupt?

how do I reinstall iTunes when it reports it's corrupt? Delete everything associated with it first? the problem is on my Windows PC; my iPad is fine.

I wish Apple had a direct set of instructions instead of letting us bob indefinitelly in the "discussion group" waters to sink or swim.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.

Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".

Can you launch your iTunes now?

Sorry Mate, I had already tried it and tried again to no avail. The orinal error message reads that it's corrupt and to reinstall and makes reference to error 0x80070002. After going to the control panel> repair and opening again it now reports that it's corrupt or not installed correctly.

This whole thing happened when I "forced" MSE off my PC. I had made tself at home when I used sit to remove a virus that FB reported that my PC (and other) had after reading an article about FB helping the FBI track the hackers.

Thanks in any event-I will keep trying. p.s. working in an XP system
