How much data, exactly, are we talking about? If you're using reporting from your carrier as your determining source, you have to keep in mind that data usage is not always reported to the carriers from the cellular towers in real time, but is often batched, almost always at night, making it appear that the data usage occured at a time other than when it actually did.

It's not just ZDnet, just google news search for "ios update 6.0.2 battery" and see it is several sources reporting.

That said, I generally never trust the main stream media in any way, especially when it comes to political fear mongering lies to propogate more pointless wars.

You'll find reports for pretty much every iOS update that comes out. Search these forums and you'll find the same thing. As I said, restoring it as a new device virtually always solves the problem.

I tried just a standard reset, see if that helps. And I will surely follow your advice later. Corruption makes sense for such a dramatic shift in battery drain. I am at work now, but I will keep an eye on my battery life throughout the day and let you know what happens later.

The update screwed up the auto focus on my iphone 5. I cant focus on anything past 3cm away. I have done restore after restore and nothing. A bit of a bug? was what I was told at the Liverpool Apple Store but to be honest I dont think they had seen this happen before as it is a very new problem. Also Batterie is rubbish now. My phone Went down 20%in 30mins. DONT UPGRADE!!!!!!

Have you tried restoring it as a NEW device? If there is a problem with your backup, you can restore all you want, but if you keep restoring your backup, the problem will keep coming back.

Since upgrading my iPhone 5, when trying to update apps in the App Store all I get is a blank screen. Have tried hard reset, but no results. Did not have this problem before iOS 6.0.2. Will have to contact Apple Support. Anyone else have this problem?

I did not have issues before updating my iphone 5 to 6.0.2 and now I can't connect to wifi AT ALL!!!!!

Same problem for me. My iphone 5 worked fine before upgradig to 6.0.2. and now it never connects while my other Apple devices work great, whichever the network. Very good signal from the wifi, but no connection with my Iphone 5 after upgrading! Please fix it!
