Everyone I know with an iCloud mail account keeps getting this annoying Dr. Oz Diet spam at the same time. This miscreant has obviously figured out how to spam the whole system. Why can't Apple get this under control? Is there a spam reporting tool in iCloud?
Has anyone managed to create a rule to autotrash those annoying Dr. OZ spam emails successfully?
If so, how?
I'm filtering it in Mail using the following rule although I still get a "bing" for it having arrived…
I like that but is there a way to add the rule that works on icloud.com so it doesn't arrive on all my devices when my mac is switched off?

Spammers are either getting pay a_freaking_lot, or somebody has ripped the iCloud e-mail database with ease.

It's the same for me. I never received any spam to my MobileMe/iCloud account until recently, and it's only this Dr. Oz spam. I receive no spam other than that one. Apple clearly has a problem on their hands.
I've just stuck this in to see how I go with it…

The first "Received: from" directive in the header shows the point of origin. Press option-command-u with the message selected in Mail on your Mac to view the full headers. Unfortunately, neither the iCloud web interface nor the iOS Mail app provide a way to view the full headers. The last round of this spam to my account originated from here:

That IP address belongs to Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited, an ISP in India.

It might be better to move it to the Junk folder as I've been told that will automatically forward a copy to spam@me.com.
Thanks. I got that off my iPhone, but I will try what you said when I get home to my Mac. Bet you it will also be from India.
My .me account and that of my wife are also receiving the Dr Oz spam, going back to late November and again today. Neither of us use these e-mail accounts, they're not p[osted anywhere, nor are they in anyone's address books other than ours, and we are a 100% Apple family.
Cool. Are the rules case sensitive by the way? Because if they aren't then "Dr.O" i'm thinking it should be more effective (looking at old spam that came adressed from Dr.OZ and Dr.Oz)
Some data points... To address those who might think an address book got hacked or a forum got slurped... Etc.
I have had a me.com account for over three years. Have never recieved any email to that account even for apple as a welcome ( was before they sent welcome emails. ). In short I don't use this account for sending emails, never have sent an email from it.
I noticed that ther were some emails waiting for me there. I was shocked to see it we spam, so I googled for this and found this any many other threads about this same spam email. I kind of figured apple got hacked and this definitely is one more I indicator my suspicions are correct. No way for anyone to hack my address book as it's not an email account listed, shared or used. Not to mention I'm aware of about a dozen others with this same spa message.
Apple..... we expect better than this. You lost positive control of a lot of email addresses.
A lot of the Dr. Oz spam I get originates from India. It leaves me wondering if Apple uses Indian call centers and, if so, could this have been set up by someone at a call center with inside access to Apple's system.
I don't know if the iCloud mail rules are case-sensitive or not, but they may be. The last Dr. Oz spam I received was addressed to something like undisclosed043210@me.com. Adding a rule with a wildcard for the To address might catch such variations, something like undisclosed*@me.com.
I hope apple get this taken care of soon. I get five or six emails for Dr.Oz a day, and have for about two weeks. I set a rule to have it go to my junk folder on iCloud.com. I hope that helps.
