what happened to scramble ce

I am having the exact same problem - and the app has disappeared from the app store too. I have deleted and reinstalled it several times, but it still doesn't work on either my iphone or ipad. It just quit working.

Zynga stopped supporting Scramble Challenge edition at the end of last year as they replaced it with Scramble with Friends. Although the game became unavailable in the App store, those that had CE installed could still enjoy the online multiplayer action that made the game so addictive in the first place. As the game isn't supported anymore, it would seem there had to come a time when they had to turn these multi-player host servers off and re-use elsewhere.

This is a genuine shame, as Scramble with friends does not have an online multi-player mode. As all you CE users know, this is what the game was all about, and for me, was why my battery ran dead twice a day. Come on Zynga, get multi-player onto your new version, or just turn the servers back on!

I'm getting the same internet connection required message. I knew the game was no longer available for download but it's not like it was obsolete, there were still loads of us playing. I was constantly using this app. CE was fluid and fast-paced, no need to wait for your opponents to make their move, you could play any time and for as long as you wanted, that was the beauty of it. Scramble is one on one and nothing like it.

Zynga probably stopped it because it didn't generate any revenue; no ads, no need to buy tokens, etc. I guess they aren't making enough money with their other apps to host a mingy little server for this game??

I second Steve's request to get it back online : just add a banner at the bottom... please!

Hello to all my years of Scramble CE friends! I miss the years of fun.... I would gladly pay large sums to get this game back up and running. Please, everyone weigh in on this so they will consider getting it going again!

As to having bought it already, I am wondering about the very expensive apps I have already bought and how long they really have to keep the app going. I will think twice now before shelling out for the expensive apps.
