iCal search not working

Hi there


Since i installed 10.8.2 Mountain Lion the search function of iCal 6.0 doesn't get any results anymore. I reinstalled 10.8.2 but the failure is still there. How can i fix this?

Same issue here. Works in Spotlight. In iCal I am even offered autocomplete of titles of past events. But nothing turns up on hitting enter. All calendars are turned on. Anybody have any ideas?

It's to do with the Default Alarm setting. There is a bug that does not allow "Alert" to be set to "None".


To temporarily solve this bug, set the default alarm for that account to anything other than "None". And also, don't change alert setting of any existing event to None.

I have the same problem and have had it since Lion. I am now running 10.8.5. Upon the suggestion of an Mac Genius, I did a complete clean and re-install of all applications. The calendar search function worked properly before I re-imported the calendar. I don't believe it is a default alarm setting. I have never had the setting set to "none". Has nybody else solved this one yet?

I have the same issue- I cannot get results for items I KNOW are in my calendar. Some items come up on search but the majority do not. The seems specifically for events in the past where some come up in search and some don't. If I do a spotlight search, the items DO come up under calendar items, so it seems like it is just the search mechanism in iCal itself. What's also peculiar is that I can see the item I am looking for in the "suggestions" as I type... but it can't be found.


Also note, I recently upgraded to Sierra, so if this is a bug, Apple STILL has not fixed it!
