it is better to export all the contacts to one vcard file and then import all of them in one go.

I think the easiest way to import one or multiple vcard files is to e-mail these files to your e-mail address, get this e-mail on your iPhone, click on attachment and click import/add or whatever appears when you open an attached vcard file(s)

yes, this was what i did to bypass these limits.

anyway, the last tab "INFO" in the iTune can save all of us this kind of dummy labor jobs, but apple deleted it without any good reasons.

apple pushs us to use iCloud. but everyone knows that iClould is a kind of external servers keeping all our private things. however, they are out of our controls. they are subject to the eyes of "someone" who can "screen" our private things and can stay behind the laws. they are subject to be hacked and server owners take no legal responsibilities from.

Using Windows 7 import to iPhone multiple contacts that was available in my Nokia phone as individual vcf files in Nokia suite: Here is another method that I succeeded in. I combined all vcf file to one file in Yahoo mail, then imported into windows contacts by opening the combined vcf file in windows contacts. To do that I clicked start button(Microsoft button in left bottom corner of screen or the button on key board), typed contacts. Contacts folder became visible. Then clicked the contacts folder. After that I imported the combined VCF file to this windows contacts. It asked for confirmation & I pressed OK every time for each contact. Then in iTunes, from clicking the mobile phone icon in explorer, I went to "info" tab of iTunes, clicked Sync contacts, changed outlook contacts to windows contacts in the spin button & synced into mobile. All contacts from windows contacts got copied to iPhone contacts. Mine was iPhone 4.

If you do not use data connectivity always in the phone and only use GSM or use in offline mode, then the contacts seen in GMail, Yahoo mail etc. will not be visible in data off line mode. So you should copy contacts to iPhone to use contacts even in off line mode.
