does itunes work with windows 8
I heard that Windows 8 does not support iTunes 10 at the moment. However, now we have iTunes 11 available, but you must search if works in Windows 8.
ITunes worked fine on Windows 8 until I accepted the upgrade, now I have to launch it from desktop mode as administrator.
Also it lost my entire library, iPad and iPhone sync, and made me authorize another computer, again. I have authorized all my allowed computers even though I only have 2. I hated iTunes before, I hate it more now.
Thanks apple for the rotten experience, both on windows and on my MacBookPro
I had iTunes 11 installed on my Windows 7 PC and I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro keeping my applications and settings. iTunes now works perfectly for me on Windows 8 except for maximizing window size which does not maximize exactly perfect.
Just finished setting up a new Windows 8 64 bit desktop. Every app that I have, even some very dated ones, runs perfectly...except iTunes 11. This thing can't find 90% of my music files despite the fact that I've pointed it at the correct folder - several times. When I try to play a song with an "!" in front of it (because Tunes can't find the file) I get an error asking if I want to locate it. Once I do this manually that song is good to go. Too bad that I've got over 5000 tracks that Tunes can't find. I need to load some new content on my iPad. Guess that I'll either have to run iTunes in a Win 7 environment or use MediaMonkey.
The next item I buy or download will be on my Windows 8 PC. Otherwise, I will buy my music from Amazon.
If the media had been moved properly there would be no issues.
The problem described suggests the media files were copied and then imported into iTunes.
The correct way to move iTunes is to copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer. Doing so his way will retain the library, playlists, and playcounts.
