Can there be more than one apple id on a device?

We have 4 iPhones, 1 Macbook Pro, and 2 iPad Mini's. Currently my wife and I have separate Apple Id's which works great for our iPhones. However, our 2 children now have iPhones and iPad Mini's and I don't want to have to purchase the same Apps and music 2,3, or even 4 times so that everybody in the family can use them. I understand home sharing is designed to solve this problem however I am not clear as to how this works exactly. Obviously I don't want my children/wife to sync my info to their devices and vice versa.

So far we have two apple Id's MyAppleId@mail.com and WifeAppleId.mail.com. My children will need their own apple id's as well so that they can use iMessage on their phones and also to keep their stuff separate when syncing. Therefore I would create SonAppleId@mail.com and DaughterAppleId@mail.com. Now everybody's iPhone will have their own apple id and sync independently of one another. Obviously each person would have their own account on the family Macbook Pro for syncing their devices with iTunes.

In order to share apps and music (at least knew apps/music) I now need to enable Home Sharing. This is the part I'm a bit confused about.

Do I create a fifth apple id say FamilyAppleId@maill.com and use this to configure home sharing on the Macbook Pro?

Do I configure Home Sharing for each user account on the family computer?

Now everybody will need to have two apple id's on each of their devices, for example MyAppleId and FamilyAppliId will need to be configured on my iPhone, WifeAppleId and FamilyAppleId will need to be configured on my wife's phone, SonAppleId and FamilyAppleId will need to be configured on my son's iPhone and iPad Mini, and the same for my daughter.

How do I associate two apple id's with each device? How do I sync a device with two apple id's?

I'm hoping someone can answer this question as clearly as possible

Hi,

I been looking around for an answer about "can an iphone have more than one apple id", i asked some of my friends and they don't know because they never had one but you and one of my friends who's living out in Australia wiht his Mrs, who's just got the lastest model, said you can only use one apple id on iphones.

Reason I been looking round for answers because I bought one second-hnd but hardly used and in pristine condition, the guy sold me it, didnt reset the phone to factory nor he removed his apple id. I plugged into my itunes and came up with someone elses name, It took me 3hrs to figure out how to reset to factory because the passcode was still on and did it, i emailed him didnt get response for 2 days because he was out in a remote area with no coverage. He said knows nothing about iphones, so that tells you, that i bought from someone who hasnt got a clue about iphones, he then removed his apple id off the phone but still registered with somone,. told him thats its registered under this name he then said "oh thats my daughters", i was abit miffed about it, he asks her to remove her apple id off it but it still registered with someone, now i just sent it back 2 days ago and asking for full refund which he agreed on and still haven't got my refund because I'm guessing he wants to take his time or he's gonna claim something out of it.
