I just got a new iPod 5th generation, and I want to get all the music from my previous iPod that I had stored on iTunes on my computer. However, my copmuter doesn't recognize my iPod. I tried restarting the iPod and then plugging it in, but nothing comes up under devices.

Do you have iTunes version 11 installed on the iPod?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
Does the iPod charge?
I did what was suggested in the link fr my Windows 10 computer and it is still not recognized by Itunes. The computer is recognizing it and it is charging and I can upload my pictures and video but that is it.
