Whatsapp on Iphone 3G IOS 4.2.1

You should have done a little bit of research. The iPhone 3G has been discontinued for over 2 1/2 years.

Fair enough i should have done a bit of research but that still doesnt mean they need to stop supporting their older customers who have stuck it out with them for so long. I've just joined so i cant speak much but its still pretty bad.

I cant download or install any apps that im fully willing to pay for...

It's up to the app developers to decide what versions they are going to support. Apple specifies that they must support a specific range including the current version and several versions back. If the developers choose not to go beyond that range, it's completely up to them.

Take it up with the developers.

whatsapp has stoped supporting 3g and other older devices...... they are telling tat your hardware is not complitable with newer version of whatsapp...so there is nothing to do...bro

i know the words of steave jobs in one interview ...he was telling that apple is making smartphones that people can use it for next 20 years atleast..but now in iphone 3g whatsapp,facebook, every apps are not supporting...if apple will not change its policy android will definately beat it.Apple will lose all reputation from people and apple fan if they will not change their policy...we appriciate their new products but they should also support their old products..it is some kind of rasism in house or in family...

You are right, i emailed whatsapp and they are blaming it on apple. They have sold us a license for one year and the service stopped after 4 month. I belive filing a complain to one the consumer protection agencies can get them back on track and we should get the support of apple since we already purchased the app through thier app store.

I have iPhone 3g with iOS 4.2.1,I heard that whatsapp v 2.8.4 is working for those people who were already using whatsapp in their iphone 3G iOS 4.2.1 but it is not working for the new users.When I try to install v2.8.4 while confirming it is asking for 3 digit confirmation code.Can anyone tell me how do I skip verification process or how do I proceed further??

Note:

I have tried all the posibilites like faking iOS firware,editing whatsapp info.plist file,editing systemversion.plist file etc but none of these tricks work anymore.

Thank you for telling me about Bluestacks. I have managed to get Whatsapp on there on the pc. As I have an iphone 3G I tried to get it again on my iphone and it just said the same thing I need ios 4.3 so - so far I have it only on the computer. Do you know/ or anyone know if there is a way to now get it back on my iphone? I can't use the app on my phone for bluestacks as it only works on Android. Thanks though! I might find a way if I keep reading posts!!

Oh whilst writing, I no longer can get Facebook app, viber, skype, whatsapp and others.... all because the developers have moved on. It's all a bit mean if your phone is working fine.

OK. let's STOP to talk about this issues.

this for the option :

1. Buy a new iphone and install new version of whatsapp.

2. Forgot the IOS and migrate to android.

I agree. Since Apple's business scheme to get you to continually upgrade and buy new, more expensive products every 1-2 years, I have simply abandonned Apple/Mac altogether. It was precisely this annoying situation with WhatsApp that took it over the edge for me. I am now a happy, proud Android owner and will never go back to Apple.

Totally agree!! So I finally moved out of rigid iOS and moved to Android with Nexus 4. We compared it with iPhone 5, and it was way better phone in half of iphone's price..

I'm using version 2.8.4 of the app on an iPhone 3G with iOS 4.2.1 but can't send pictures. I have reistalled the app several times with no luck. Any suggestions to bring that functionality back?
