Laptop questions

My question isn't specifically about iDVD but I couldn't find one that suited my questions. So here they are:

1: is flash drive better then RAM for the purposes number two will specify?

2: I would like to have a laptop that can handle:

A) playing games either via both disc and laptop or one of those...

B) watching movies either via disc or online or both.

C) typing in a place like Microsoft word.

D) syncing and downloading things from my iPhone to a MacBook pro...

Which MacBook pro would be good for all these purposes?

MacBook pro or retina display -OTHER, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), And MacBook mountain lion

No, if you buy the Apple-branded SSD from the Apple Store then it would cost an extra $900. You can get the same SSD - or one similar - for $400. The Apple Store will not install a third-party drive. If you choose not to install it yourself, I'm guess that it would cost you $50 or less at an AASP or another computer repair shop.

Do the math - $450 for a non-Apple 512GB SSD or $900 to add an 'Apple' 512GB SSD.

You'll save half the money getting the 'third-party' SSD (although I should add that Apple's SSDs are third-party - usually Samsung - so you're not really getting an Apple drive).

No, I'm just a user in a user-to-user forum - just like yourself.

You earn point by helping folks - 10 points, I believe, for a 'correct' answer and 5 points for a 'helpful' answer. I've been here for a little over a year but have been using Macs since 1985... so I'm somewhat familiar with them!

And I do try to help other users, as best as I can. But we have some real geniuses on here who make me look like a beginner!

Take care,

Clinton
