No sound at all with bluetooth....

Hello

I just bougth a JBL Onbeat Awake speaker in order to get bluetooth audio service with my MBP.

MBP and speaker pair well, the speaker is recognize by the MBP, even indicated "connected". When i launch a music on Itunes or any other "noisy" file, the "bluetooth" light on the speaker is not flashing anymore which indicates that it communicates with the MBP but.... no sound !!!

I have OS x 10.7.5

Of course, i checked that noise was not turned to mute (both on speaker and MBP). All the sound options seem to be fine, even bluetooth options. I tried many times to unpair/re-pair, stil doesn't give any sound.

If i disable the option "use as an audio device" on the bluetooth/Onbeat awake menu, the sound comes from the MBP as usual.

I really do not understand what happens. I have read that there us to be bluetooth audio trouble with OS x 10.7.4 with sound quality decreasing rapidly, but here i have no sound at all !!

The speakers works fine in bluetooth with my iphone, without changing anything on the speaker. So the problem do not come from the speaker. And even if i disable "bluetooth" from my iphone, sounf from MBP still do not work...

Any idea ? I am not a "Mac Professional" so maybe i forgot an easy step...

Thank you very much for your help and answers, and merry christmas !!

I'm going to ask in the iMac section but the problem is the same -however none of the solutions here work for me. Zero sound. It said it is connected, it communicates with the iMac bc it asks to pair. The sound preferences do NOT have mute selected and I cannot find a toggle for device in iTunes at all.

The speaker works but the output does not get sound... It looks to me as it the iMac isn't competing the pairing with the hmdx neutron

please ping me if someone has a solution not mention here so far

I am in the same boat as martians8mymac, my laptop says it's connected with my bluetooth headphones, but sound continues to play through the laptop, none of the solutions have worked, and my headphones are not even an option in the sound preferences. I can even pause and play and skip etc the music from my headphones, but the audio is entirely going through the laptop speakers. Someone please help!
