iPhone 5 CALL FAILURE on Vodafone Mumbai

I got an iPhone 5 from Heera Panna, 64 GB, but often calls fail on that.

The calls are dropped though I have a full signal at my home at Hajiali (and where I used iPhone 4 with no problems at all).

Already tried removing all apps, upgrading to 6.0.2, a new vodafone SIM card,

Resetting Network Settings. Nothing works.

Can you suggest what to do? I think the iPhone 5 was bought in Singapore and the model is MD663ZA

Apple support in India said that I can exchange it for another piece only at an Apple store abroad. But they

have no clue about the problem or solution.

Would appreciate your input.

Hi drprasad... I took my phone to TSS and they said they ll diagnose the issue and do a reset and see if the issue gets resolved.. If it doesn't then they ll replace it.. So I got a call from them the next day and they said they had done a reset and it was resolved... I went and collected the phone, it seemed to be working fine .. But when I came home, after a couple of hours that issue came back and its again giving me "call failed" all the time, Can you tell me how they handled your situation? Did they tell you that they will do a reset and see if it is working fine or they just went ahead and gave a replacement?

They had detected the problem with my first phone in one day and replaced it the next day. After the second phone (which they had replaced) started having problems they had told me they have reset and its working well.I used the phone after the reset for a period of 10 days. But the phone had the problem of "Call Failed" and i went back to them again.I had also escalated the problem to Apple India via their toll free number and registered a case with them, telling them about the problem even after service. They coordinated with the service centre the second time i gave the phone for service. The technician accepted that the problem was there and they replaced the phone after the second visit to the service centre.

Just tell them that the problem persists and escalate the matter.

Same issue for me from Day 1.

After updating Network Update, there is not any change in failing the calls.

I purchased new iPhone5 just before 4 days from apple reseller in Gujrat, India and calls getting failed continue for most of incoming + outgoing calls.

There shows two option buttons (1) Call back and (2) cancel.

I also did Network Reset two-three times but didn't get my problem solved.

Is there any way to solve the issue?

Hi All,

The Problem: No network signal, intermmittent signal and no service. This happens almost 40 times in a day.

This is a 3rd phone that has been given to me after replacement of 2 phone, the best part being that the same problem occurring in all the 3 handsets.

First handset was submitted on 31st Mar 2013 and got a replacement on 7th and then again submitted on 14th April and received a new handset on 16th April.

The solution given by Customer Support was also implemented where they asked to reset the network settings and also the resetting the whole handset again, but in vain.

Service Centre rep suggested that Vodafone SIM is not good enough, so changed this also TWICE, still the same problem.

I am fed up with this kind of customer handling by Apple and would definitely expecting something better

Hello,

I'm having the same problem in PORTUGAL Vodafone. Already changed for a new iphone 5, but problem's still there. Call drop and lost 3G signal sometimes, on max covering 3G ??? Changed nano sim 3 times, made restore from factory settings, etc, etc. Should i send it again to waranty ? Waited 2 weeks last time. Vodafone says it is all ok, but don't. I,ve also tryed to cut a normal sim card, and it seams to solve the 3G problem. I don't know what i can do more. Curiosly, i have the phone for 6 months, and the 3G problem just starts a month ago, but the call drop is from the begining.

Thank you,

I had the same problem and tried most of the procedure. I have asked vodafon

To shop another nano sim. This problem

Is not there with Airtel.

There appears to be a conflict when both 3G and wifi are working together. Just turn off 3G while in wifi hotspot. Everything works fine.

I do not know if this is an iPhone issue or Vodafone.

Compromise: after all you do not need both wifi and 3G at the same time!!!!

I had this problem of 'Call Failed' on Outgoing calls with iPhone 5 with Vodafone, Mumbai. I initially contacted Vodafone & got the SIM replaced - however the issue was still there. They told me that it is a problem with the handset. I was about to contact Apple Support & then i tried this: Go to Settings -> Phone -> My Number. I deleted the number & re-entered it again in the format "+91-xxxxxxxxxx" and the outgoing calls started working !!

hello

i am iphone 5 user in India.

the problem that i am facing is that sometimes my iphone drops the call.

the detailed situation is like this when i dial someone's number, iphone says on its screen "Calling" ; but in reality the call never gets connected.

even after few minutes iphone is stuck on the same screen.

and then if you press call end button on it , iphone says "Call Ending..."

and then it is stuck on this Call Ending screen and never comes out.

i contacted the customer care of Apple India and they referred this issue as an iOS 7 bug. and told me to wait as a new update will fix this issue. and also advised me to visit the service centre.

i visited the service centre their too i was conveyed the same message.

then after this two or three updates came from apple and none of them fixed my issue.

so again contacted customer service and spoke to some senior manager.

he took a quick diagnostic test of my iphone and told me that out of 100% ; 3% calls were dropped due to network carrier and 2% calls were dropped by the device itself.

and the strange thing is that instead of focusing on calls dropped due to device he literally did not let me say anything as if he was in a argument with me and just wanted to win it that discussion, kept on saying sir we are sorry the problem is due to the network carrier so please contact them.

I must say he was one stubborn employee who did not wanted to resolve the issue.

And till date my issue is not resolved;

I am using iPhone 5 on iOS 7.0.4
