iPhone 5 CALL FAILURE on Vodafone Mumbai

I got an iPhone 5 from Heera Panna, 64 GB, but often calls fail on that.

The calls are dropped though I have a full signal at my home at Hajiali (and where I used iPhone 4 with no problems at all).

Already tried removing all apps, upgrading to 6.0.2, a new vodafone SIM card,

Resetting Network Settings. Nothing works.

Can you suggest what to do? I think the iPhone 5 was bought in Singapore and the model is MD663ZA

Apple support in India said that I can exchange it for another piece only at an Apple store abroad. But they

have no clue about the problem or solution.

Would appreciate your input.

Hi

I experienced the same problem a month ago. I am using Vodafone. When I tried with an Airtel sim there was no problem. I also suspect that the 3G on Vodafone was in conflict with the WIFI and the problem was happening mostly when both are enabled. Try disabling 3G when you are connected to WIFI. It worked well for me.

Adeetya - What is *#31# used for in this case? How does it help to resolve? When I tried, I get a response "Unknown Error"

Adeetya, I am facing similar issues - Vodafone Pune, Iphone5 with IOS 7.0.4 (11B554a)

Frequently I get this Ending call freeze screen eventually resulting into a "Call Failed" error message. It is frustrating and before reading your post felt this was some network issue. Now I am suspecting more of IOS issue rather than the service provider.

Wireless mind, you are indeed somewhat right. This issue is an ios7 issue but somehow only Vodafone subscribes are affected due to it.

The temporary fix is to toggle “Airplane” mode on or off.

Second thing is to either switch off 3G if possible for you because this call freezing problem is only there if 3G is on.

Many users have reported that if you switch on 3G and Wi-Fi simultaneously and your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network then you face call dropping and call ending screen freezing more repeatedly. So either switch off Wi-Fi or 3G for a temporary fix.

When your phone is working fine then go to dial screen and dial *#31# from your phone; this is also a temporary fix. But it worked for me sometimes.

I had reported this problem to Apple India but their final reply was to switch to Airtel because Vodafone is not their supported Carrier Provider officially so they cannot help in this.

And when I reported the same to Vodafone they asked to change my handset to Samsung because Apple is officially not in partnership with Vodafone India.

So now the choice is left with user to either switch their carriers or to change their phones to Samsung.

I have ported my number to Airtel.

Hi All,

I am experiencing "call failed" on iphone 6 using Vodafone. Do anyone know how to resolve this? Changing the sim card didnt help.
