Does logic pro 8 work mountain lion?

I've updated my Mac Xeon with Mountain Lion and now my Logic Pro 8 is giving me a midi conflict error. How can I fix this or does Logic Pro 8 even work Mountain LIon? Can anyone help me?

Hi, gman.

I installed logic 8.0.2 onto a new mac mini running Mountain Lion using Pacifist. It costs about $20. Just google and you'll find links to its site.

This program will open and load all the install files from all the LP 8 discs and let you install onto ML. Just click the relevant installer from the list. I didn't reinstall the content, but all the other installers worked without problems.

The only issue I had was the Audio Unit Manager's Avualtool crashed whebn it tried to vadilate all my Waves Mercury plugins. I suspect the problem was the processor being too fast for that program. After about 25-30 vaildaditions it crashed Logic. A restart and another try got another 30 or so.Once all were validated there was no problem loading LP 8 or opening projects.

You might have problems depending on file sizes, but at least you can try LP 8 before using LP 9

Hope this helps and you get up and running

Hi Scorpii.

Reading all the threads on the subject, your solution seems to be the one that works. Following your advice, I downloaded Pacifist, loaded the Logic 8 installer and the other discs when asked to. Now I have a list of files in Pacifist but I don't see any installer. Please, I need your help. I have to install Logic 8, and then upgrade it to Logic 9, all before a rehearsal I have tomorrow morning!

Thanks!

If you are planning to "upgrade" to Logic ( there should be no need to install Logic 8. If you are using the Upgrade Logic "Studio" disks you will need the Logic 8 serial number. If you are purchasing Logic 9 from the Appstore, you will not need that 8 serial.

Alternatively, use Pacifist to install each package within the Logic 8 mpkg (there is a button top left in Pacifist that says "Install"... select each package 1 at a time and install it).
