How can I switch desktops with fn + number keys

In Snow Leopard I was able to switch to a specific space/desktop by using the shortcut fn + desktop #. Is there a way I can do this with desktops in Mountain Lion?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

That's not really what I'm looking for. My desire is to have a super quick way to go to the exact application I want. In Snow Leopard I was able to open up an application in a dedicated space/desktop and switch to it by hitting fn + space/desktop #. I don't want to use a shortcut to bring up Mission Control AND THEN use my trackpad or mouse to click on the desktop I want shown. I also don't want to flip through multiple Mission Control desktops to get to the one I want.

You have to go to System Preferences-->Keyboard-->Keyboard Shortcuts-->Mission Control. In mission control, input your desired hotkey to move a space left or right!
