    Update on my situation:

    The greyed out problem reappeared after switching the phone off. After this I was ready to take it in to service, but since the battery was very low I decided to drain it completely (since I read somewhere that this might help at least with the connection problem). And the greyed out problem was gone. After this I reset the network settings and no more connection problems, Wi-Fi has been working perfectly for about a week.

    I would suggest that anyone considering the hairdryer fix would try draining the battery first. It's definately safer operation than possibly overheating some components.

    i did reset network settings and its worked my greyed wifi switch turned back and i can use wifi but after a few hours ive been disconnected cant connect my wifi anymore so ive restarted my phone and it turned greyed again ive tried reset network settings again and never works anymore so ive decided to restore my phone and its done, but still my wifi switch is greyed and this what ive noticed before under switch you can see this " LOCATION ACCURACY IS IMPROVED WHEN WI-FI TURNED ON" but after ive restored my iphone is gone you just see the wi-fi 0ff greyed switch, it means the problem is not for software anymore is in hardware? in itunes they have advisory that by april 21 has a automatically update that means theirs a new version? might help to get my greyed switch back again?

    First, you shut down your phone, then You can use the HAIRDRYER to the backside apple logo about 15 minutes. The distance is about 2 cm. After 5 minutes cool down, you can restart your phone.

    Updating to IOS6 was big mistake, it's working when i'm in IOS5.1.1... I upgrtaded to 6.1.3 hoping it will solve the problem, but it didn,t do a thing... and apple won't allow restoring back to IOS5.1.1, maybe because it will prove that their IOS6 has a problem and a lot of costumer who's beyond their warranty period that bought a new phone or got their phone repaired for a price because of this problem will be angry... Reverting back to IOS5.1.1 is sure to fix this problem, but this requires elevated privilages (this is from a guy which has taken the risk to have elevated privilages on his iphone)...

    I went down the route of stating to phone provider (Pure) UK That because I was in a 2 year contract then the phone should be replaced within that period as it was "not fit for purpose" (warranty ran out in February) They replaced it next day with another 4s which has IOS 6.1.2 and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are working OK, I backed up the faulty phone on itunes and restored the replacement phone from that back-up. So far so good..........

    @furaanafulhi

    Don't know how you figured that one out but after a couple of weeks of banging my head against the wall. I tried the hair dryer and Ba-Blam! it worked. Your a geniouse or just dry your hair alot.

    Cheers.
