Why does my iPhone 5 keep beeping when charging?

I have had my phone for a few days and it was charging fine but now that I have actually got my Vodafone account on it (before I was justing playing with it as I needed to get to the shop) when I charge it, it continually beeps! I don't want this happening overnight. Please can you explain why it is doing it and what can be done to stop it? Thanks😐

I thought the same ... See how this curse. So, at the risk of destroying another solution (I was his "free for two days White), here is my latest revision

I dug further and found on my Windows 7 system that Bonjour is not the right way in the Event Viewer ... In any case, it turned out that my Norton Internet Security firewall was too aggressive. So I got a notch or a beep.

Another study, we found that many errors 11has iTunes, and I believehow via WiFi Sync debt, even if the phone is off. So, while the decision on the Apple iTunes firewall small .... Well, as I post this!

Your all trying to find technical solutions to a simple problem.

The problem is the CHARGER, not soft ware updates etc or phone settings but the charger.

Simple to prove.

Firstly the phone always beeps when you plug in the charger, but then keeps beeping, the reason is that the charger switches off and then on again, hence the second beep and also whay it turns its self on again.

To prove this change the charger. Also when you plug it in you notice the battery symbol shows a flash to show it is charging, then if you keeping looking at it the flash dissapears, ie the charger is not on. then it switches back on again. lets face it what do you expect from a mass produced made in china charger produced in the millions.

I went to the apple strore and they gave me a new charger NO MORE BEEPING NOW.

What you will find is the apple store is full of techo geeks trying to impress you with technical solutions to simple problems.

Sorry I m old school, break problems down into sections and prove each section, but that is what happens when you were a telephone exchange technician taught in the time honoured KISS manner.

Keep It Simple Stupid

LOL
Go get your selves new chargers and dont worry about software update 6.02/////#$??? and you will spend time using your phone

Ah Geezer... the software update most likely increased the charging mA load requirements that made many PC's and chargers unable to deliver. Anything less then 1000 mA won't cut it.

Why would my system have no issues with with my iPhone 5 pre iOS6.1 then all of a sudden start beeping.

We all know Apple has had Battery Drain issues and my guess is they change their charging scheme that put more demnands on USB ports and chargers.

I agree with this. I had this problem ...startimng beeping a few months after I got my Iphone 5. The charger with the iphone 5 was a 5W. I changed to an older iphone charger that I had and have not had beeping since. My wife then started using the new 5W charger on her iphone 4. After a copule of days the beping started on hers. So I reckon it is definately the charger that comes with the Iphone 5

Top answer: Geezer! Simple problem simple solution!

When the beeping commenced (yes, it drove me freaking nuts) about 2 days ago (something that didn't happen before)... I was curious to find out the real reason. Like a sincere netizen, I got to this post and after reading every comment... I decided to test geezer's solution (try simple before complicated). It simply worked.

So what's the story of the two chargers? I spend my week in one city and my weekend in another. The charger that came with my personal use iPhone (Dec 2012) was what I was using all along in both cities without any issues. When I got a office issued iPhone (Feb 2013) as well, I decided not to use the charger plug and instead kept the same in the box it came in. Last week, however, I opened the "Pandora's" box and pulled out the office issued iPhone charger, so it could save me from transporting my original charger every weekend. The rest is self-explanatory. Putting geezer's theory to test, I replaced the office charger with my original one and the beeping stopped. So, it must be charger that came with the office iPhone that's causing the incessant beeping. Try replacing your charger... it might save your brain from exploding!

Just got a brand new 5s today and took it out of the box along with the charger. Plugged it in and it does not charge, but beeps about every 4 seconds. I had ordered a spare charger when the phone was ordered, so I tried it, with the same result. I also tried an iPad adaptor with the same result. I believe there is a problem with the phone. It will not turn on or respond to a reboot, so I have not come up with a way to trouble shoot it yet.

Go into Windows Control Panel - SOUND and change the setting "DEVICE CONNECT" under the "Sounds" TAB to (None) and it'll solve your problem.

But you may have stumbled upon the REAL cause of this problem. Apple goes completely asleep and the USB port thinks the device has been removed. Apple needs to fix this, since the rest of the USB device world seems to be able to deal with it.

I guess they think they're saving the planet or something.... a drop in the bucket compared to Apple's true energy footprint.
