Why does my iPhone 5 keep beeping when charging?

I have an iPhone 6 and an iMac, both running the latest software. I didn't have this bleeping problem when connecting my iPhone to the Mac until recently, but it has started all of a sudden. It doesn't do it every time. When it did it just now, I tried restarting the iPhone whilst it was plugged into the Mac - that didn't cure the problem. Then I took the lightning connector cable out of the Mac and plugged it into the iPhone wall plug, then into the 'phone and charged the 'phone from the wall socket directly - this time, the bleeps stopped. So it can't be a faulty cable - can it ? One thing I have noticed, in case this is related, is that since the latest IOS update, my 'phone's battery life is much shorter than it used to be. The only other thing is that the electricity supply in the country where I now live (South Africa, was UK) is unreliable and we have occasional power outages, as well as trip failures in the house. So that might have something to do with it - or it could be ageing components (but only 2 and 3 years old, respectively). But that wouldn't account for the cable working fine normally, especially when using the supplied iPhone plug. I think one of the issues here is that many of us expect Apple products to work perfectly, possibly for reasons of their polished aesthetic appeal, high price and the hype that surrounds Apple products. Some users go into bit of a panic/rage when they fail. But like all machines, they rarely do work perfectly and I've learned to chill out a bit about that. Normally, Apple support will help out and that is the company's - and our - saving grace when things go wrong.

You do't know what tf you are talking aobut. It is the cord not the charger
